Types of road transport
GL TRANS carries out road freight transportation on the territory of the Russian Federation, CIS countries, Turkey, and China.
The targeted delivery service allows you to transport goods not only to one specific warehouse in the capital, but also to deliver goods to warehouses in the regions. Consolidated pickup and delivery of goods is carried out weekly. For road freight transport, we use large-capacity Euro trucks, as well as container ships.
Eurotruck FTL – This is an abbreviation for the English name Full Truck Load. This type of transportation involves using the vehicle only for cargo that belongs to one client – this differs from groupage options. The advantages of this type of delivery include increased speed compared to rail transport, the optimal cost of delivering goods, and most importantly, the convenience of delivery by one transport to the final recipient.
LTL (less truck load) —«partial truck load», or consolidated cargo. In this case, the trailer is filled with goods from different senders. A profitable and fairly fast delivery method for companies that require delivery of a small amount of cargo.
Mega truck (100m3) has the same overall length (13.6 meters) as a standard awning, but there is a difference in the internal height, although this is not noticeable. The internal height of a standard awning is 2.7 meters. Thanks to the reduced diameter of the wheels of a mega semi-trailer, the height of its loading space reaches 3 meters. Mega hitch (120 m3) is a truck that has a semi-trailer, as well as a trailer of increased height and a reduced wheel diameter. The advantage of Meg is the possibility of economical and fast delivery of bulk cargo.
Refrigerator – This is a body with a refrigeration unit installed inside. In cargo transportation, refrigerated trucks transport goods whose safety is affected by maintaining one specific temperature level (hazardous and non-hazardous). The advantages of this type of transport include the speed and optimal cost of delivering goods that require a certain temperature regime.
Transportation by isotherms is the most economical way to quickly deliver food and non-food products that have increased temperature requirements. The car is equipped with rear hinged doors and a side hinged door. These are sealed structures, inside of which the required temperature is maintained, for example, using dry ice. To ensure low thermal conductivity, the van is equipped with an insulating layer (3-10 cm thick). In this case, compliance with the temperature regime during loading is of great importance.
ADR – This is an agreement of 48 states, which agrees on general rules for the transport of dangerous goods across the borders of the countries participating in the agreement. ADR is an acronym for European Agreement of Transport of Dangerous Goods on Road. Dangerous goods are substances that require special precautions during their transportation and storage. To date, the list includes more than three thousand dangerous goods. The entire list is divided into hazard classes with their own subclasses. The advantages of this type of transport include speed and optimal cost of delivery of dangerous goods.
